One fighter nearing the end of his professional boxing journey in Paul Gallen, as well as two at the start in Harry Garside and Nikita Tszyu, are set to return to the ring in May.

NRL premiership-winning captain Gallen is coming off a stoppage victory over Darcy Lussick, hoping to record another win with a view to a long-awaited meeting with Sonny Bill Williams.

Victorian southpaw Kris Terzievski will be the man opposite Gallen in the ring.

The Australasian heavyweight title will be on the line as Gallen looks to cement his status as one of the great crossover athletes.

Garside, who earlier in March claimed the Australian lightweight title with a 10-round masterclass against Manuer Matet, will face Tasmanian Layton McFerran.

Nikita Tszyu, brother of super-welterweight world title contender Tim, is taking on the second challenge of his professional career, having defeated Aaron Stahl in his debut earlier this year.

When is Gallen vs. Terzievski

The event, which will be promoter No Limit's next pay-per-view offering, is locked in for Wednesday, May 11.

It will be Gallen's first outing since the win over Lussick in late December, while it will be a quicker turnaround for Terzievski, who most recently defeated Waikato Falefehi via unanimous decision in March.

Having defeated Matet on March 5, Garside will be fighting on just a five-week backup, while McFerran claimed a four-round decision victory in October.

Tszyu is also on the quick backup, having finished Stahl in the second round in March, while his opponent Smith knocked out Sonni Michael Angelo just three days later.

What time is Gallen vs. Terzievski

Doors open at 6pm, with the first bout and broadcast on Fox Sports to start at 6:30pm.

The pay-per-view portion of the event is scheduled to begin at 7pm.

Expect Gallen and Terzievski to fight after 10pm.

During Nikita Tszyu’s professional boxing debut in Brisbane in March, the most nervous man in the arena wasn’t the first-timer himself, it was his big brother, Tim.

The 27-year-old was in his younger sibling’s corner and barked out instructions throughout the fight before Nikita ended proceedings in the second round.

Rugby league star turned boxer Paul Gallen is set to make history against Kris Terzievski before potentially hanging up the gloves to pursue a managerial role in the NRL.

Gallen, who played for Cronulla, NSW and Australia, will become just the second NRL player after Solomon Haumono to win the Australian heavyweight title, but the first to hold the Australasian title simultaneously.

Paul Gallen was installed as a heavy favourite by the bookies to win his fight against Kris Terzievksi in Newcastle tonight, but they'll be starting to get nervous as the money rushes in for the underdog.

The Victorian southpaw is eight years younger than the 40-year-old former Sharks captain and has a 14cm height advantage.

Gallen started as a $1.10 favourite, but the Victorian fighter has received a huge boost on the betting market in the last couple of days.eyru6t
