We speak to two Assembly Election Officers about their work in the community, building the Aboriginal Electoral Roll.
When the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission established a framework for elections for the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, it identified the need for people on the ground. People to work within the Aboriginal Community to assist in the compilation of an Aboriginal electoral roll. Essentially, a small and dedicated team of Assembly Election Officers.
3KND Treaty Correspondent Charles Pakana caught up with two of those elections officers - Kimmie Lovegrove and Zali Mifsud - as they took a break from their work within the community.
