The Aborigines Advancement League held its Annual Elders Christmas Lunch held in Thornbury which once again was well attended. 3KND were there broadcasting live to air across the network.
In 1957 the Aborigines Advancement League (AAL) was formed. The AAL holds a special place in the Aboriginal Community. It’s the oldest Aboriginal Organisation in Victoria and widely regarded by many people as the ‘mother’ of many organizations which are now established throughout Victoria. The AAL has a long history as a focal point for Aboriginal community welfare, sporting and recreational activities for the Aboriginal community living in Melbourne.
