After a massive 12 months which included ARIA, APRA and Golden Guitar award wins, Casey Barnes has his sights on bringing country to the city this September with the CITY NIGHTS TOUR in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne marking his biggest shows in those cities to date…while Casey’s catalogue has amassed over 51 million combined streams.
Casey’s electrifying live show has made him one of the most popular touring acts in Australian country music.
“Boys Like Me” is the second single from a brand-new studio album to be released in early 2024 and is the follow-up to his latest smash-hit, “Summer Nights”. These new tracks follow the huge success of previous studio album “Light It Up” (released February 2022), for which Casey received the 2022 ARIA Award for Best Country Album, 2023 Golden Guitar Awards for Toyota Album of the Year and Top Selling Album of the Year and the 2023 APRA Award for Most Performed Country Work (for “God Took His Time On You”).
Casey commented on the song, “This is a really special and important song highlighting a story that I know so many can relate to. Growing up with good mates, ones you’ve known since you were kids and are still there by your side today through thick and thin. The ones that’ll share a beer on a Friday night but will also be the first there when you’re going through tough times. More than ever this song is about how important the simple things in life are, not material possessions, it’s about making the most of every day and treasuring the ones you love.”
To compliment the single, the stunning video for “Boys Like Me”, was filmed in Longreach in Outback Queensland with Golden Guitar Award winning director Jay Seeney and features a number of local residents, highlighting their stories and the stunning scenery of the region.
The single and video release arrives as Casey prepares to return to the U.S for a number of live performances and song writing opportunities in June, including performing at the iconic CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.
