Rhiannan Parker Discusses The Impacts of Lockdown for MITS

Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) is a transition school based in Melbourne. They have a boarding program, Alumni Boarding Houses and a Pathways Program that supports young Indigenous people as they pursue away-from-home schooling in Melbourne. MITS exists to create pathways to greater opportunity for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities, so that they may lead lives full of choice and opportunity. The Alumni House Manager Rhiannan Parker talks about her work with MITS and how the COVID-19 lockdown has impacted the staff and children. MITS decided to move the students to the Darwin hub so that they were able to still be connected with their culture and family.
