Tamworth Country Music Festival 51st First Day

The 3KND team are back in Tamworth for the 51st Country Music Awards 2023 kicking off on Friday the 13th to the 22nd January. With all the best of Australian country music from the buskers on the famous peel street to the Golden Guitar Awards which will be held at the Tamworth Reginal Entertainment and Conference Centre on Saturday the 21st.


The Tamworth Country Music Festival has a strong history and traditional making it a unique festival that calls people from all over the country and the world to join in the long 10-day festivities with artists performing in different places over Tamworth.

The 3KND team will bring you a live broadcast with interviews and talk to some of this year’s Golden Guitar nominees including The Wolf Brothers, Kevin Bennett, Hayley Jensen, Kirsty Lee Akers just to name a few and some of the listeners favourites like Troy Cassar Daley. The Tamworth Country Music Festival was started in 1973 when local country music radio station 2TM created the Country Music Awards and planned the festival to draw recognition to the awards. The festival has often been recognised as one of the ten best music festivals in the world.
