Celebrating the start of NAIDOC week 2020, 3KND’s broadcasters Hayley McAdam and Natasha Ferre attended the VIC NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony at Federation Square.
Uncle Bill Nicholson did a wonderful welcome to Wurundjeri country with an inspirational speech and Will Nicholson cleansing everyone’s spirit and the city with a smoking ceremony. Aunty Jill Gallagher vocalizing on supporting First Nations people and the social and emotional issues within the community.
Esther Ketchell Tambo expressed about what NAIDOC means to her. We were treated to some deadly didgeridoo playing by Amos Roach who set the tone for the flag raising. The Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal flags were raised into sky by First Nations representatives.
