Wendy Brooke Says All Indigenous Students Should Apply for Scholarships

Wendy Brooke has been a volunteer radio broadcaster at 3KND over 15 years now. "I love being a broadcaster and bringing great music to my listeners. I play a diverse range of music from all over the world. I love it when listeners tune in and love what I am playing". Wendy yarns up about studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the Australian Catholic University during a global pandemic and how winning not 1 or 2 but 3 scholarships has made a difference to her financially but also peace of mind.

Mrs. Brooke discusses her own experience with lockdown and reflects on the positive things like getting married through lockdown and how the Indigenous unit Jimbaayer (To Learn - To Teach) at Australian Catholic University (ACU) has supported her along with other Indigenous students. If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student, there is free academic tutorial assistance available to you. She says that she wants to inspire students to take advantage of this opportunity.
