City of Whittlesea NAIDOC event . What a great turnout. There were speeches from Lydia Wilson -Chair Administrator, Toni Mason - Manager of Aboriginal Communities Dept and Key note speaker- Shelley Ware.
Aunty Donna Wright spoke about the Aboriginal artworks on display in the Civic Main Hall these include artworks from Sharna Brown, Emrhan Sultan, Jade Kennedy, Mandy Gawarn Nicholson, Ray Thomas, Emma Emma Jane Bamblett, Natasha Corrigan and Sonny Wright.
There were lots of activities which included weaving with Mayapa Weaving, making clap sticks, badge making, poster making and a good feed with Dardi Munwurro cooking a great BBQ.
