Marcia Galea Talking About Upcoming Naidoc Celebrations 2023.

Marcia Galea is a proud Gunditjmara woman with connections to Yorta Yorta. Marcia comes from a strong line of staunch women, leaders and activists that have helped pave the way for our Victorian Aboriginal community today. Marcia is my special guest today around 8.10am.

This is why Marcia is honoured to be involved with the Victorian NAIDOC committee. Stepping into my leadership and following in the footsteps my strong family members have created for me.

Marcia prides herself on being humble, kind and lifting others up to be strong in their true self connecting through their culture and identity.

Marcia has over 14yrs of event management experience, from running her own successful business hosting kids events, weddings and food truck park nights. Over the last 4 years I have played a key role in supporting the delivery of our signature events such as Ricci Marks Youth Award, Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll and the NAIDOC state reception.

“I can honestly run an event with me eyes closed! Well, maybe with one open On top of all of this, I am also busy studying my bachelor of Law”

The legal system is a huge passion of Marcia’s and to be able to advocate for our mob and fight for fairness and equality through the legal system in an attempt to break damaging racist outcomes that happen to our people. My areas of interest are family and criminal law.

Marcia is looking forward to supporting community through our NAIDOC celebrations and encourages all you mob to come join our events this year!

Welcome @marcia_jaye_legg we’re excited to have you and your expertise on the committee this year!
